Latinx Heritage Month
September 15th through October 15th is Latinx Heritage Month!
What exactly does that entail? Let’s talk about it! Latinx Heritage month is a time to celebrate the cultures, contributions, and resilience of Latinx, Hispanic and Latino-identified communities worldwide.
The term “Latinx” relates to people of Latin American origin or descent and is used as a gender-neutral or non-binary alternative to Latino or Latina.
Mid-September was chosen because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, Chile, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua.
We're so happy to be part of a community that honors all backgrounds. After all, being present in a multicultural environment is what makes us rich and creative! It’s important to make it known - we do not only celebrate for one month. Instead, choose to honor and share Latinx magic with the rest of the world throughout the year!
