7 Myths Millennials Have Busted
Creatives, I'm sure we've heard these lies at least a couple dozen times in our lives:
1. Success happens by age 30.
2. White-collar jobs are always better than blue-collar jobs.
3. A government job takes care of you for life.
4. A Bachelor’s degree guarantees you a high-paying job.
5. You have to be a homeowner to build generational wealth.
6. Life begins after retirement.
7. It’ll all make sense when you’re an adult.
We've been told about what success is "supposed" to look like... That we need to have a certain kind of job and education to accomplish the things we want in life, and even worse, that we have a timeline to achieve those things...
I call BS. 🤷🏽♀️
Not only are these plain wrong, but they are also incredibly discouraging… I know for a fact, things don’t magically make sense once you become a legal adult.
The thing is, every path is different. You don't need traditional education in order to become your best self, and you damn sure don't have to wait until retirement to start enjoying life.
The beautiful thing I am noticing more and more these days? We millennials keep proving these things as false. Why? Because of our creativity. We don't need to follow these rules - we make our own rules. So be proud of yourself, keep winning, and always strive to achieve success in your way, and on your own terms - whatever that looks like for you, friend. 💚
